About me.

I have been drawing as long as I have been able to hold a pencil and writing for almost as long. My first ambition was to be a cartoonist and when I left school I took a course in Fine Art at the Gamble Institute in St Helens. But I did lots of other things first before becoming a writer and publisher in the mid 1980s. Since then I have written and published scores of books, articles, stories, &c. I started illustrating children’s books five years ago and have undertaken several private commissions.

I am also a creative writing tutor at the Open University. I live and work in Shropshire.
